Chilworth is a wonderful environment for children to start their school journey. Set in a beautiful location with the backdrop of St. Martha's, the school has extensive grounds, fully enclosed for safety and security, whilst offering a wide range of stimulating outdoor environments that are utilised in all weathers! It is a friendly, caring community which provides an excellent education in this Ofsted Outstanding school, for the children in its care.
Dear School Community
Most of us have never experienced anything like the COVID-19 virus, either in the impact of precautions, or perhaps in the concerns the virus generates. It’s naturally formed a key part of our discussions with the Head Teacher, Maggie Mackie, over the last couple of weeks. We have seen how seriously she and her staff are taking the whole issue, paying attention to information and advice, and always trying to ensure the right level of precautions. You are in good hands.
Sometimes it is also good to look beyond the human. We are a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none, but inspired by the Christian story of a God who cares and calls us to care. Therefore we felt it right to set out a prayer for these times, below. You can discard it, read it, or use it as is your right to choose.

God of love and hope,
you made the world and care for all creation,
but the world feels strange right now.
The news is full of stories about Coronavirus.
Some people are worried that they might get ill.
Others are anxious for their family and friends.
Be with them and help them to find peace.
We pray for the doctors and nurses and scientists,
and all who are working to discover the right medicines
to help those who are ill.
Thank you that even in these anxious times,
you are with us.
Help us to put our trust in you and keep us safe. Amen.
