OfSTED 2009 - Congratulations on a very successful Inspection


'The school has gone from strength to strength'

OfSTED says

Children enjoy a good quality of teaching throughout the school and reach standards that are above average for their age
The Headteacher gives a firm steer to the school's work, maintaining a clear and effective focus on raising standards
There are high expectations and rigorous monitoring of lessons
Governors gain a good overview of the school's work and challenge the school about its performance and use funds wisely to support improvements to the premises and curriculum - they take a very active role in the life of the school
Behaviour is excellent in lessons and around the school
Children have an excellent understanding of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle
They know how to keep safe
Pupils' positive attitudes and good academic skills mean they are well prepared for their future education
More able pupils are challenged and those with specific learning difficulties are supported so that they can take the next steps in their learning
Great care is taken to ensure that pupils are safe, secure and well cared for in school

SIAS 2009 - Statutory Inspection of Anglian Schools


Summary Judgement:

'Chilworth is a good Church of England School. The strong link between the school and church places both at the centre of the community and offers excellent role models on a daily basis'

The latest SIAS inspection of Chilworth School took place on the 28th April 2009.
The inspection was very successful with comments such as:

Through its distinctive character, the school makes outstanding provision in meeting the needs of all learners

The Headteacher and Governors provide outstanding Christian leadership of the school and work in close partnership

Relationships are exemplary and all are invited to be part of its community 'those of the Christian faith, those of a different faith and those of no faith at all'

Pupils feel valued and special and part of a large family

It has a warm, friendly, inclusive, Christian family atmosphere where each individual is known and valued. It has an enthusiastic team who work together to support each other

Parents say: 'As you arrive at school you feel back at home again'.
