What makes Chilworth so Special – A Parent's Perspective
[Swimming Pool]

Chilworth C of E school is a wonderful environment for children to start their school journey. Set in a beautiful location with the backdrop of St. Martha's Hill, the school has extensive grounds, fully enclosed for safety and security, whilst offering a wide range of stimulating outdoor environments that are fully utilized in all weathers! The outdoor heated swimming pool is a real bonus with all children swimming every day in the summer months. The pool is even open (manned by parent volunteers) in the summer holidays for pupils and siblings to use.

With an excellent pupil to staff ratio, each child is encouraged to develop their individual skills in whatever area their interest lies, whilst ensuring outstanding results are achieved and maintained in all core skills. The school actively encourages a healthy, environmentally friendly and socially aware lifestyle and this is reflected in both the curriculum and extra curricular activities. After school clubs offer something for all interests, thanks to dedicated staff who are prepared to give that bit extra! A Breakfast Club is available before the start of the school day and the school has been designated a Children's Centre.

We have a very active PTA (the 'Friends'), who manage to raise a considerable amount of money through a variety of fund raising events throughout the year. This is spent on facilities that benefit all our children (and the on-going development of the school) as well as helping towards school outings and paying the running costs of the pool.

Each year the new reception year children seem to fit in so quickly and comfortably. This really sums up what a caring and welcoming school this is, providing the best start for our children. We all feel very lucky to be part of it, we hope you will too!
